Maker Club for Kids – Kids 8 – 12
June 29 @ 3:15 pm - September 28 @ 4:45 pm$230
Maker Club for Kids 8 – 12
Maker Club for Kids will run each Saturday from 1:00 to 2:30 pm for 12 weeks at MCC.
Maker Club for Kids is designed to introduce kids to critical skills in design thinking, coding and making. Kids will be engaged in activities designed to teach 21st century skills through working with craft materials, Arduino, code with Scratch, electronics, and of course peers, and other makers. Over time, this type of maker learning changes how kids perceive themselves in the surrounding world. They will start sensing, and feeling the young designer, engineer, inventor, and artist within themselves.
By joining Coding and Robotics for Maker Kids, children will accomplish many technical and social learning goals:
- Learn coding with Scratch (If condition, loops, variables and functions)
- Temperature sensors
- Complete robotic project
- Creative self- expression through making and creating.
- Working within team (communication, collaboration, conflict resolution, negotiation)
- Making friends and have fun with a group of peers
