Friday, May 5, 2017 – Friday, Jun 23, 2017

3:00pm – 5:00pm

Robots are changing the job market, and employent requirements. They are reshaping the world around us. Robotics and technology are not   just  nice extra-curricular activity for youth. Indeed, it is central to the future success of any youth regardless of age.

In this introduction to robotics, youth will the learn the art of making. They will be introduced to Arduino technology, which can be used to make  greatest dreams and ambitions come true, whether it be a cool do-it-yourself lava lamp, 3D printer or even a drone. Once mastered, the possibilities of Arduino technology are endless. Imagination is the limit. Youth participants will be using the Arduino board to create creative projects using simple circuits and write programming code to make the Arduino function.

In this course youth will learn:

  • Thinking creatively
  • Basic electronics
  • Basic coding in java
  • Parts that are applicable with Arduino
  • Using Lights/LED
  • Measuring light – Using a photo-resistor
  • Using buttons and switches
  • Using LCD display
  • Using motors
  • Introduction to sensors
Introduction to Robotics for Youth will run once a week for 9 weeks at MCC.
