Coding Playground with JavaScript (3)

Coding Playground with JavaScript and Blocks for kids will run once a week for 12 weeks at MCC.

In this course, children will enhance their skills in coding and physical computing by using Circuit Playground and working with Java Script. They will deepen their understanding of foundational coding concepts through JavaScript and physical computing. In this course kids will be introduced to more advanced coding concepts such as arrays and functions. At the same time, they will be able to interact and control LEDs, buttons and variety of sensors by using JavaScript.

Toward the end of the course, children will start working on their own creative physical computing projects, that reflect their learning, creative choices and personal interests. Kids might use the 3D printer to print their models to support their projects.

Technical goals:

• Review the components of Circuits Playground
• Control Sensors, LEDs, Temperature sensors and Speakers by using JavaScript
• Learn how to use arrays and functions by using blocks.
• Design, plan and create their own projects.
