Online Introduction to Python for Youth
Introduction to Python for youth 11+ will run once a week at MCC every Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm for 12 weeks.
In this course, youth will learn one of the most important programming languages - Python, to create games, secret messages, and customized projects.
In this course, the youth will uncover their basic Python programming wings. Youth will learn about planning programs, starting from building the “Hello World” program to building the “Guessing the Number” game and more!
Python is a general-purpose, versatile, and popular programming language. It's great as a first language because it is concise and easy to read; it is also a good language to have in any programmer's portfolio. Python can be used for everything from web/software development, AI, and mathematical/scientific applications.
Youth will learn:
- Python Syntax
- Data type and variables
- Input/ Output
- Lists, Tuples, and dictionaries
- Introducing Functions
- If Statements

By the end of this program, youth will create their own games or applications that they can share with their classmates.
